After months of San Francisco residents not caring about Sprint’s 4G service, these Bay area types now have a reason to stand up and pay attention. Sprint has launched their WiMAX service today in San Francisco, San Jose, Palo Alto and Oakland. The Bay Area joins Los Angeles in the 4G circle, as the Southland was turned on last week.
Now that the SF Bay is turned on, there are 71 cities nationwide that Sprint customers can expect 4G speeds. We’ve had 4G here in Portland, Oregon for about a year and overall I like the service. Speeds vary depending on where you are in relation to your closest tower, but I’ve seen some really rapid speeds.
Which other cities might you find 4G in? If you’re in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago or New York – you’ll see fast mobile broadband speeds.
