Over the past few days, I’ve noticed a change with Verizon Wireless’ ads and the wording they’re employing. Before, when talking about their EDVO wireless data network, they described their network as a “wireless broadband network” or something similar. Now, since the introduction of the iPhone 3G, they’re using “3G” as the branding for their EVDO network.

We have long known that the iPhone would cause changes throughout the mobile industry, but this is the first I’ve noticed a competitor changing their branding because of Apple’s hot new iPhone 3G.
