On Thursday, I’m going to Gnomedex aboard the Iterasi geek bus.
Gnomedex is a gathering of bloggers, social media types, and other techno-geeks. I look forward to showing them some of the geek gear and showing the iPhone-types what open technology is all about, sans Steve Jobs’ DRM.
This year, along with me and my head full of bright ideas, I’ll be taking some awesome geek gear. My geek back will include:
My original Macbook: Core2Duo, OG style. Apple hasn’t released the new MacBook Pro yet, so until they do, I’ll be packing Mac Attack (that’s my name for my MacBook).
Nokia N810 Tablet: This ultra-portable rock star of an Internet tablet can do IM, web surfing, email, Skype, play any media I need it to, and do video conferencing. It’s easy to port around and has a full backlit keyboard. I’ll be utilizing the bus’ on-board Wi-Fi with the tablet.
Nokia N82 phone: This phone is the candy-bar version of the N95. It shoots pics at 5 mega-pixels and shoots video at 640×480 at 30 frames a second. Not bad, for a mobile phone. Plus it has wi-fi built in so I can do VoIP calling if I need to. With the N82, I don’t need to carry around a digital camera because of it’s high-end optics and inclusion of a zenon flash.
Nokia E71 Phone: this is Nokia’s business class phone with full QWERTY keyboard if I need to fire off some tweets and emails. It also has a 3MP camera so I can capture really good images with this phone as well. The E71 is the mobile messaging power-house where the N82 is the media making phone.
bring me back a t-shirt! (or equally cool technoshwag)
