There’s a little known video-conferencing start-up in Sweden called Marratech. They make a great little piece of software that is similar to Live Meeting from Microsoft or WebEx. They weren’t very widely known, that is, until Google bought them yesterday.
This is a pretty big deal because of what it represents from Google. They have an Office competitor called Google Docs and Spreadsheets, and presumably soon they’ll have an online collaboration tool in Marratech. Business people can talk, collaborate, and share documents easily and cheaply by using these tools. Google already has a chat/VoIP product in Google Talk.
It’ll be very interesting to see how they meld all these intricate pieces together.
