DropBox Opens To The Public, launches Linux Client
Dropbox, the easy to use file sharing and on-line service, has dropped their “Beta” status and has officially opened up to the public, according to their blog. The previously covered simple service is meant to replace the need to carry around a USB stick and gives you cloud-based storage.
Additionally, the startup has released a Linux client. With the new client, DropBox is available for Mac, Windows, and Linux. Another smart feature Dropbox supports is version control.
Dropbox is from a team of MIT folks and is backed by the Y Combinator, the incubation program for startups.
